a quick one.

our new LP/CD “you will not survive” will be here in about 10 days, so for once we will have preorders that will ship early. that said if you were waiting to order i really would do it soon, we are down to about the last 100 copies of it and are unsure when we will be able to do a repress. thanks for all of the support on this one.

also we are almost out of all our other records, all the saddest landscape vinyl/cds in the store i am down to about  5 copies of each item, most of them will then be out of print for good. same goes with a lot of the her breath stuff.   so now really is your last chance to get them.

we have a lot of exciting show news coming up, including  a pretty sick record release weekend planned. we will hopefully announce in the next few days.

in record nerd news. aaron now owns the denali “instinct” LP and i have the red house painters “down colorful hill” LP thank you.  in shitty record nerd news after a few years of searching it out i was finally able to track down karate’s masterpiece “unsolved” on double LP, and i was fucking giddy, and trust me i dont get that way often, well of course i am cursed and when i got home to listen to it found out i got record 2 twice, instead of both LPs, so yeah.  anyone want to help me out with that, id be excited. not as excited as if i got the white stripes inchophone, but still pretty jazzed.

first we would really just like to thank everyone who has preordered this record, and thank you for your patience. being avid record collectors trust me when i tell you we understand how agonizing the wait can seem when you are awaiting a preorder, checking your mailbox every day only to get that little ping of saddness when there are no records there, lurking message boards for signs of other people recieving them etc…we get it.

when we first launched the preorders (and submitted the record to the plant) we were lead to believe that there was no reason we shouldn’t have the records in time for both bands june tours, so we felt it safe to post the preorders. and well obviously things did not go that smoothly. this record has turned out to be a very involved process, so the plant has had a lot of techinical details to work out to be sure that it will be done properly, and this has unfortuanately caused a few delays. being as there is both music and ecthings on both sides of the record, and it being an “odd-sized” record, there is quite a bit of work going into it. as everything has to be exact, but rest assured we are in constant contact with the plant and they are working on it. and we like to believe it won’t be much longer.

for now we simply must wait a little longer, thanks for understanding.

and finally this will in no way affect the preorders for our new LP, totally different situation, different plant etc., we are actually expecting this one to arrive even earlier than we had thought, you win some, you lose.

we are starting to run low on copies of the “you will not survive” vinyl, it is possible that it will sell out in preorders, the response has been aweosme, and we are humbled and thankful, but we do suggest if you were waiting to order you should probablly get on that.

first we just want to thank everyone who has already ordered the new LP, the response has been incredible, we honestly can not wait to have these in your hands and share this record with you.

and while we are on the subject of the new LP, being as the limited version with the DVD sold out within the first 24 hours, and since then we have been getting a lot of emails asking about how to get one, and sadly we only have those original 50, so instead of more dvd’s here is what we are going to do:

everyone who preorders the new LP will be entered to win 1 of 3 saddest landscape test presses from older records we have put out, so 3 people will win, in addition to these we will also be including other goodies in random packages be it out of print records, tour editions, posters, etc. i think i even have an extra tsl demo CD i may toss in, so point is your odds of winning something are pretty high. so please help us out by ordering one, thanks

now onto the pianos split. i know people are getting impatient for this, trust me so are we. every day i shake my head in disappointment that this is not out yet, this one is coming we promise, it is all in the pressing plants hands, and has been for the past few months. we are doing everything we can, and just know that this will in no way affect the preorders for the new LP that is being done at a different plant, entirely different situation, this one will come out as promised, on time.

also you may notice a couple new things on this site, one is i updated the saddest landscape discography page with some newer records, and the other is a list of record wants we have, seriously look at that one, we are obsessed, and we are ok with that.

we are launching the preorders for our new full length, today at 6pm eastern, first 50 orders get something special, (check at 6 and you will find out what, trust is we think you will want it), you will also get to hear the first track from the record then as well.

welcome to what sure will be a very long update.

part one.

we survived, we made it home yesterday from a very awesome euro tour, we had a great time, saw a lot of old friends, made quite a bit of new ones, played some great shows, only got kind of fucked by one promoter, saw paris, aaron found true love with a man named rick, i remembered that all sorts of foreign money confuses me, and told 163 versions of “thats what she said” jokes,  there will be many more updates  than this but for now here are some photos as promised.

we went to the Eiffel tower.

also the berlin wall, and i had no idea what was left was painted.

took a ferry from denmark to germany, even though the guitar playing half of the band does not know how to swim.

went to a carnival in sweden. i love ferris wheels for some reason.

met some more kids with awesome tsl tattoos, this one has the lyrics to stars in jan, wrapped around his arm, fucking rules.

and more exciting than all of this is….

we have a new guitarist, ladies and dudes, meet eric mauro, he fucking shreds, likes long walks in the swedish nights, reminding people that you can be sxe without  being a dick, making bold statements like futurama is better than the simpsons, and telling people they have awesome tshirts. and we are very excited to have him be part of all this.

also there are still delays on the pianos splits, so those waiting on your preorder, the wait will be a bit longer, all i can say is this is a very involved record that has had a few snags along the way, but trust me when i tell you it will be worth it.

now we are in berlin, monday night, not bad, still have a hard time with all of these german keyboards moving letters on me, but its all good,  thanks to will and team agathe for a great show last night, and awesome pancakes in the morning, today we are off to zurich, then vienna, more will come just wanted to say hello and thank everyone who has come out so far.

hey all we are alive and well here in europe, the quickest snippet filled rundown of events i can spill out are:

stayed up till 5am making tour covers, got to an airport early for once, then watched a kind of bunk movie (leap years) fell asleep for what was most likely a decent a movie (crazy heart) picked at what the airline considered a vegitarian meal, landed in copehagen, worried about customs but got waved through, our tour manger met us at the airport with a nice sign for us, van b got his own personal escort, went to malmo, went to a carnival where i learned i am terrible at bumper cars much to everyones amusment, played an amazing show for a lot of energic kids, had an amazing women do sound for us who made us sound better than ever, went to a swedish karaoke bar, got lost on the way back to where we were sleeping, woke up a couple hours later, drove to berlin, our man sebastian brought us our new tour shirts as well as the connections lp, all look amazing (thanks jens), went to adagio, store is amazing you should all book a trip just for that alone, went and saw what was left of the berlin wall, almost got hit by a car, went to the venue played another great show, eric and i learned german pizza is actually pretty decent, learned that a drunk van b likes bon jovi, sober van b does not, aaron speaks an awesome fluent german, sort of, woke up early drove to prague the city is fucking bannas in its beauty played to another packed room, finally got the euro tour edition of the lp, almost out of those so if you want one come to munich tomm. now we are sleeping in a very nice cozy prague home.

so we leave in a few days for tour, i am excited, nervous, exhausted, and a whole lot of other emotions about the whole thing, but one thing i know is these shows will be amazing, we have some cool things planned for everyone coming out. one of which is an exclusive tour only 7″ that will only be available at these shows, so if you want one, or are a tsl completist, or just want to collect everything in the cover your heart series, you should come out to one of these shows, and if you can’t come get in touch with someone who can and have them pick up one up for you. its good stuff, it is from the session we did with jason from on the might of princes/the brass a few months ago, and i am stoked on it. we also have a couple new shirt designs as well. so come out. and yes we will play that, and that one, but sorry we won’t be playing that one.

our split with pianos is still of course coming. there are always delays, this record will be worth it, with the etchings and music on both sides, as well as it being a 9″ it has caused a few delays to make sure it will be done right, so soon. and by soon i mean july.

also this person rules fucking hard.

and if you can’t come to see us on our tour because you live in the states, do us a solid and go see pianos become the teeth on their tour, tell them we sent you and remind them how fucking good they are.

so many updates, so now i will take the time to fill you all in, first: even though it has been announced already i slept on putting the info here, but we are going to be doing a brief tour of europe next month, ending with a closing slot on the legendary cry me a river fest!! and we are fucking stoked, seriously this is something we have wanted to do for a long time. most of the tour will be with the swedish band “if footmen tire you, what will horses do?”, also our friends in pesanteur will make an appearance on some of the dates, if you would like to help in anyway please get in touch, or write to our man joakim who is booking it: cvrsxxxd@gmail.com , thanks. here are the dates:

we will also be playing a pre tour u.s show with pianos become the teeth, and you know how much we love those dudes so it is going to rule hard, we are hoping the show will also be our record release show for our split 9″ with them, that is if the pressing plant plays nice, so fingers crossed,

speaking of the 9″ we still have a few copies left, and just say no still has a few of the glow in the dark sets left as well so please order it and help us out, they were very expensive to make but will look killer, there are etchings and music on both sides, we went all out on this one.

we have been busy practicing for tour, tightening up some new songs, as well as relearning some old songs we haven’t played in awhile, we will be ready. i have also been working hard getting a bunch of new merch ready for tour, you know we love the limited tour goods.

our new lp is done, recorded and mastered, we hope to be able to make release announcements soon, as for now though we must remain quiet.

and touche amore fucking rules, i saw them again last weekend and was once again blown away by them, easily one of the best bands out there playing, do yourself a favor go see them, buy their record, thank them for making the music they make.

and finally send me your red house painters vinyl, any of the first 4 records will be fine, no shit ill go broke if i keep watching these auctions.

in other news, our new LP is all  recorded/mixed/mastered, we are fucking stoked as shit about it, i can’t wait for all of you to hear it, expect more announcements about this very soon.
